re:Cap Recap
I recently attended #AWS re:Invent re:Cap 2025 in London, and it was definitely a worthwhile experience to catch up on the latest developments at AWS. Appreciated the chance to learn and connect with others in the community.
First, my thanks to the wider AWS community for making these events so valuable. It’s always good to be part of this network, whether remotely, or in person.
Special thanks to Matheus Guimaraes for sharing his crazy enthusiasm and energy with us through the day!
Interesting Talks I Attended
There was a solid lineup of talks throughout the day, and I found these sessions particularly interesting:
-
The Opening Keynote by Arina Puzriakova with Michael Mueller was inspiring in the way they applied #GenAI to accelerate manual processes in the analysis of scientific research papers.
-
Bedrock Agents Deep Dive: The introduction of multi-agent collaboration makes complex Bedrock applications more maintainable and much easier to control and manage. Definitely keen to explore the new capabilities of Bedrock agents further.
-
EKS Deep Dive: EKS Auto mode is excellent! I like how easy it is to bring an existing cluster into Auto mode, and to override key default behaviours, so it’s not an all-or-nothing commitment to Auto mode.
-
Aurora DSQL: Finally, a first-class turnkey solution for active-active database deployments! Very excited to explore this new service, although it looks like applications will need to specifically be written to handle COMMIT-redrive, and surfacing DSQL-related errors to the correct layer.
Community Connections
It was also great to connect with, and have some great conversations with Gavin, Amr, and Kaz during the day. Thank you for your insights, and for being so friendly!
All in all, it was a productive and informative day at the AWS event. Walked away with some new things to think about and explore.
